Volunteer Coordinator – Community Offer Plus (COP) Service
The Volunteer Coordinator plays a vital role within the Community Offer Plus (COP) team, supporting individuals to engage in meaningful volunteer opportunities that aid their journey back to work, reduce social isolation, and improve mental health and wellbeing.
The coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers to deliver a range of person-centred roles specifically within the COP service. These roles include befriending, driving, accompanying individuals to health or community appointments, collecting prescriptions, and providing practical support.
It is important to note that this role is not responsible for recruiting volunteers to match with other organisations—it is solely focused on recruiting and coordinating volunteers for the delivery of the COP service.
By creating accessible and supportive pathways into volunteering, the role helps build confidence, develop skills, and foster a stronger sense of connection for both volunteers and the people they support. The Volunteer Coordinator ensures volunteers feel valued, equipped, and safe in their roles, while working collaboratively with the wider COP team to achieve positive outcomes for the community.
