The October 2025 edition of the Sandwell Community Dementia Service (SCDS) Newsletter is packed with powerful stories, community highlights, and uplifting moments that show just how transformative compassion and connection can be.

In this issue, you’ll meet Floss, a woman whose Alzheimer’s diagnosis left her anxious and withdrawn—until a life-changing connection with a Dementia Navigator helped her rediscover her confidence and creativity. Her journey, captured in stitches and framed in hope, is one you won’t want to miss.

We also highlight our continued outreach across Sandwell, from the vibrant Khushi South Asian Women’s Group in West Bromwich to the Jamaican Independence Day celebrations, where we engaged with the Caribbean community to raise awareness and break down stigma around dementia. Through music, culture, and conversation, we’re building stronger, more inclusive dementia-friendly communities.

Plus, we share updates from our Dementia Awareness Sessions at local community hubs, volunteer opportunities, referral info, and how we’re supporting individuals and families every step of the way.

If you're living with dementia, supporting a loved one, or simply want to know how to make a difference, this newsletter is for you.
