Supporting families during their pregnancy, birth & parenting journey.

Starting Well is a partnership scheme working closely with Midwives, Health Visitors, GPs, Social Care and PCN Prescribing Link Workers in order to identify and support expectant mothers up to eight weeks after birth along with providing early years’ activities for children (0-2 ½ years).

MEET THE TEAM
WHAT WE DO:
Starting Well is a project that provides support to expectant mothers and their children from 0-2 ½ years old living in the Sandwell and West Birmingham areas, in particular Smethwick, Tipton, Rowley Regis, West Bromwich and Ladywood.
SERVICES / SUPPORT:

Guidance for a healthy diet and active lifestyle during pregnancy

Advice and guidance for breastfeeding and weaning

Children’s speech and language development

Peer-to-Peer support groups with other expectant mothers

AIMS:

To promote antenatal and perinatal care with healthcare professionals

To promote breastfeeding where possible
-
To promote emotional health and wellbeing during pregnancy and birth

To promote equalities and reduce inequalities for children

To promote immunisations in young children
-
To engage with Black, Asian and minority ethnicity communities, including refugees and migrant population.

To engage with families who are also seeking ante - and perinatal support
