Base Location: The Bridge, St Marks Road, Tipton
Salary: £26,678 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent (Subject to successful completion of probationary period and continued funding)
We are currently looking to recruit a HR Advisor to our Corporate HR & OD Team, acting as the first line of HR advice and support to our managers and staff, spanning the full range of employee relations issues.
You will have experience of providing HR advice and guidance that draws upon your up-to-date knowledge of HR best practice and employment legislation. As a HR professional, you will proactively seek out opportunities to develop your professional practice.
You will work as part of a small team to promote a safe, positive work culture through compassionate HR policies, and responsive, equitable, consistent people management advice and support.
The day-to-day duties
A key role within our team, the HR Advisor will contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of a professional HR service.
You will be responsible for supporting the People, Culture and Estates Executive in managing a range of cases including sickness absence management, disciplinary, grievance and bullying and harassment cases, working in a fast-paced environment, working closely with managers and taking a lead on specific policy development and projects.
Some of the main duties within this role include:
Providing HR advisory support to the organisation.
Co-ordinating recruitment and onboarding
Developing and maintaining good working relationships with Finance/Payroll and Estates
Represent HR on panels to consider ill-health, grievance, performance and disciplinary issues and on panels as appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:
Good standard of general education GCSE Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
In possession of CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice.
Have a background in HR Administration with a clear understanding of recruitment, on-boarding and orientation/induction processes.
Experience of providing advice and support to managers and staff at all levels.
Experience of compiling and presenting formal reports.
Good ICT skills with working knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office 365 and HRM systems.
Highly organised. Able to plan, balance and cope with competing priorities.
Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection legislation must also be able to exercise discretion and confidentiality.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. With the ability to translate and communicate timely and accurate information clearly to a range of audiences.
A positive, friendly, flexible, and capable manner, able to build relationships quickly.
Ability to communicate with sensitivity and integrity in challenging and different situations.
