Job Title:

Employment and Skills Advisor

Based:

The Bridge, Tipton DY4 0SL

Salary:

Point 30 £17,115 per annum (FTE £28,233.00 per annum)

Hours:

22.5 hours per week (3 days a week – Flexible between:

09:00am to 17:00pm Mon-Thurs & 09:00am to 16:30pm Fri)

Contract:

This post is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority until 31st July 2026

The Employment and Skills Coach will support digitally excluded residents to progress into further learning and employment opportunities, working as part of the WMCA Digital Divide project team to create sustainable pathways for learner progression.


Key tasks and responsibilities:

·         Provide one-to-one employment and skills coaching to program participants

·         Develop and implement progression plans for learners

·         Build and maintain relationships with learning providers and employers

·         Support achievement of project progression targets

·         Contribute to project monitoring and evaluation

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

·         Conduct initial assessments and skills audits

·         Support learners to identify appropriate learning and employment pathways (the role will include targeted progression outcomes for entry into employment, and enrolment onto a Level 1 or above funded ICT qualification)

·         Provide job search, CV writing, and interview preparation support

·         Track and record learner progression

·         Develop relationships with employers and learning providers

·         Maintain accurate records of all coaching activities

·         Contribute to case studies and impact reporting

·         Coordinate with Digital Skills Tutor to ensure integrated support

·         Attend relevant network meetings and events

·         Support learners to access additional support services as needed
