Salary: £31,848 - £33,698 (FTE) per annum, Dependent on skills and experience

Hours: 37 hours per week

The day-to-day duties:

The Sandwell Community Dementia Support Service (SCDSS) is an innovative service commissioned by Sandwell Metropolitan Council and the Black Country and West Birmingham Clinical Commissioning Group. As lead provider, we are working alongside seven other local organisations in a dynamic partnership with Agewell CIC, Dementia Pathfinders CIC, West Bromwich African Caribbean Resource Centre, St Albans Community Association, BUDS, Age UK Sandwell and Alzheimer’s Society to provide this service across Sandwell Metropolitan Borough.

 

We are recruiting a Service Manager to support people affected by dementia or experiencing memory loss, to ensure they have the appropriate and timely help they need.

 

The Service Manager will lead a team of town-based Dementia Navigators and Advisers, working closely with the Operations and Service Development Executive on developing the service and sustaining strong strategic partnerships with statutory and community organisations throughout Sandwell, working closely with Third Sector and Community Groups.

 

We are looking for an experienced manager with the ability to develop effective team working and have proven leadership and service delivery skills along with a passion for supporting people living with dementia and memory loss.


Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:

 

·         Professional Qualification e.g., social work, nursing, Occupational Therapy, or equivalent.

·         Aware of National and Local Policy drivers relevant to Dementia care.

·         Proven Leadership ability in a Health, Primary and Social Care environment.

·         Advanced knowledge of Dementia and skills in evidence-based approaches.

·         Presentation and public speaking skills to promote the service.

·         Adult Safeguarding Procedures

·         Lone Working Procedures

·         Knowledge of the Mental Health Capacity Act

·         An understanding of client confidentiality (GDPR).

·         Able to drive and have access to a vehicle to travel independently across the service area.
